Hurray for new jobs! I'm moving up in the world.

Starting at the Wired Monk this Saturday. Semi-local cafés are far more exciting than large corporations. I feel much better about telling people where I work now.

Au revoir, Starbucks, at least a little bit. I will keep one or two shifts a week so as not to leave all my buddies.

Wait For The Summer

Whoops, I have forgotten to keep updating. Especially the new music, ahh!

Weekly schedule!
Remember that this does not include my evenings to be spent at work, sigh.
School starts tomorrow, but I have no classes. Which means school starts on Wednesday, though, I only have one class and a meeting, which leaves a bunch of time for me to sit around in Dartmouth before I work at 4. WHAT WILL I DO!!

Oh yes, Retro night was a complete success, as per usual. I finally got to slut it up a little. Got a number. Oh yes, I did. Just need to wait now?

Summer Skin

Arrived home from good times at one of my new favorite places to be; Melissa's cottage.
Was drunk (and other things) for the better part of twenty-four hours. Was skinny dipping, kissed someone after just meeting, and sun bathed. Definitely one of the better middle of the week weekends I've had in a long time. Don't want to be back to reality.

Plan is now to work and have one last big shin dig at the end of summer. A farewell to everyone.

Had portrait done with mother today while walking through downtown area. I find it to be rather intriguing. Enjoyable nonetheless.

I am now going to sleep, v. good as am awfully tired from lack of sleep. Must remember to shower and unpack car in the morning.

Goodnight.

Balled Of Hugo Chavez

Known about these guys for a while now, had a track off of iTunes ages ago but never really gave them a try until now. This entire album is absolutely amazing. All kinds of great jams. I have no doubt that they will be the soundtrack to the remainder of my summer.

Highlights of Jackson Square: Deadlines, Ballad Of Hugo Chavez, Tragic Flaw.

New Year's Resolutions Pt. 2

I WILL

Stop smoking.

Drink no more than fourteen alcohol units a week.

Reduce circumference of thighs to 3 inches (i.e. 1½ inches each), using anti-cellulite diet.

Purge flat of all extraneous matter.

Give all clothes which have not worn for two years or more to homeless.

Improve career and find new job with potential.

Save up money in form of savings. Poss start pension also.

Be more confident.

Be more assertive.

Make better use of time.

Not go out every night but stay in and read books and listen to classical music.

Give proportion of earnings to charity.

Be kinder and help others more.

Eat more pulses.

Get up straight away when wake up in mornings.

Go to gym three times a week not merely to buy sandwich.

Put photographs in photograph albums.

Make up compilation 'mood' tapes so can have tapes ready with all favorite romantic/dancing/rousing/feminist etc. tracks assembled instead of turning into drink-sodden DJ-style person with tapes scattered all over floor.

Form functional relationship with responsible adult.

Learn to programme video.

New Year's Resolutions Pt. 1

I WILL NOT

Drink more than fourteen alcohol units a week.

Smoke.

Waste money on: pasta-makers, ice-cream machines or other culinary devices which will never use; books by unreadable literary authors to put impressively on shelves; exotic underwear, since pointless as have no boyfriend.

Behave sluttishly around the house, but instead imagine others are watching.

Spend more than earn.

Allow in-tray to rage out of control.

Fall for any of the following: alcoholics, workaholics, commitment phobics, people with girlfriends or wives, misogynists, megalomaniacs, chauvinists, emotional fuckwits or freeloaders, perverts.

Get annoyed with Mum, Una Alconbury or Perpetua.

Get upset over men, but instead be poised and cool ice-queen.

Have crushes on men, buy instead form relationships based on mature assessment of character.

Bitch about anyone behind their backs, but be positive about everyone.

Obsess about Daniel Cleaver as pathetic to have crush on boss in manner of Miss Moneypenny or similar.

Sulk about having no boyfriend, but develop inner poise and authority and sense of self as woman of substance, complete without boyfriend, as best way to obtain boyfriend.

Straight in the head

This is what my life has become. "Eat ice cream." WTF? Who needs to remind themselves to eat ice cream?

Gots to get working on those Lifetime Fatty memberships. Must, for obvious reasons, make mine first.

Have been reading Bridget Jones's Diary and am not quite sure whether I enjoy the book or movie more. Started today and am already through the first two months. Sometimes I fear I am too much like the singleton Bridget.

(Not) Superstitious

Another edition of New Music Sunday, which appears to be turning into New Music Monday. Again, my apologizes on being late once again. How am I away every weekend?

Was at SappyFest in Sackville, New Brunswick this weekend. Very good music all around. A favorite of which is Snailhouse. I was able to find the album pretty easily, so I will sample you one of the tracks this week! Hope you enjoy.

SappyFest

Going to New Brunswick this weekend for the fourth SappyFest. Should be a good time.

Lucy and I are leaving tomorrow morning. I'm working tonight, then going to grandma's to look after the dog. Still haven't packed any clothes. I need a fucking rain coat and rubber boots. Ahhh!

Nightdriving

I am a little bit late for the first New Music Sunday. My apologizes.

Bike For Three! is a collaboration between Buck 65 (who I love) and some foreign girl called Greetings From Tuskan. The album is More Heart Than Brains and is one that you should check out.

Happy new music!

Switchin' it up

Still working on this redesign I think.
I'm not completely satisfied just yet.

Friday, July 24, 2009

Started a bicycle series! I didn't shoot as many as I had hoped while in Montréal, but the ones I did get were so grood. I will have to do some more shooting for this around Halifax.

Loves this one because it says "Jesus loves you."

I really enjoy the bottom left corner and it's darkness.

Picked up a new desk from my grandmother today. It's so much nicer than the last one, I'm quite impressed. iMac looks so nice on top of a dark wood. Ha ha

It is almost time for New Music Sunday, keep an eye out on Sunday for some new jams!

It's All Gonna Break

Home from Montreal/Ottawa the other day. Had the best time of my life. I think I came home a little depressed, Halifax just doesn't quite compare to the big city life!

Too much happened to write it all down. Major events were:

1. Beirut. Zach Condon is amazing. 'Nuff said..
2. LaRonde. Although it felt like a waste of money, totally worth it.
3. Bixi-clé. Bike ride with Lucy through Old Montréal at 1 am.

Moving to Québec is going to be the best thing that happens to me. Everyone can come visit me and we'll party all time every time. I will find all the cute cafés and we'll drink tea and coffee a lot.

I will post photos once my film is developed.

Chk Chk Chk

Hello, internet.

Just wanted to give a shout out before I leave the province! Gonna get my slut on in Montreal and Ottawa. What happens in QC and ON, stays in QC and ON.

My financial advisor, Lucy, is likely going to hate me when she finds out what I have purchased. I will give all y'all a hint. It's big, 24" to be exact. It runs applications. It has the internet. I do just about it everything on it. Oh hell, you'll never guess. It's an iMac, silly. So don't any of you get too worked up over this. I'm still the same person I was before! Except maybe now I won't get as frustrated when I'm designing (which means I will do more of it!)

Now all I need is someone to buy me Sims 3, as I have absolutely no cash.

I'm'a broke ass bitch.

I will see all y'all next time. Wish me luck in finding awesome thrifts!!
